Reaching Alyko beach of Naxos

Located at the south part of Naxos, Alyko beach is actually a collection of beaches surrounding the Alyko peninsula. Although far, it is preferred by many, due to its natural variety and the wonderful scenery it offers at the larger part of the route.

To get there from Naxos Town, the road leads you first to Galanado and then to Tripodes (Vivlos) village. It is uphill all the way to Tripodes and you will get the opportunity to admire the most amazing view of the southern coastline of Naxos. Make a stop to take some photos. After that it is all going downhill towards the south of the island.

Again, the views will make it worth your while. What lays between you and the sea is the fertile valley of Tripodes, with vineyards and potatoes crops reaching all the way to the sea. The Green of the land and the blue of the sky and the sea blend forming a canvas interrupted by the colourful wild flowers of the valley.

After a few kilometres, you will reach the sea level and drive along the south coastline of Naxos, passing by Kastraki, Mikri Vigla and Glyfada beaches, after which you have finally arrived at Alyko. In fact, Glyfada is considered one of the beaches of the Alyko peninsula.
